List of plot holes I noticed.

In no particular order

-Nobody investigated at all when a gardener was admitted to the hospital with multiple stab wounds through his angles and back and razor cuts on his hands because he said "it was an accident"

-There was no investigation to Kim's disappearance.

-They didnt call the police to go and investigate the giant cavern system under the house that Kim was pulled in to (That's all that needs to be said to the police, I cant believe people are saying the police wouldnt believe them)

-Some how nobody noticed the dead monster crushed between book cases while they were cleaning up the library.

-Sally showed Alex a developing picture of her with a monster on her shoulder and he ignored her, then she seemed to forget about it and he put her to bed.

-Why didnt they take Kim to be killed or converted when she was unconscious? (not sure if plot hole)

-They attack during a brightly lit busy dinner party but not at night while she is sleeping. I guess this is necessary for the plot but kinda stupid.

I think this movie would have made a better tongue in cheek comedy horror, especially with the clumsy and not-so-intimidating monster design. I laughed all the way through it, especially when the gardener staggered through the door and said "it was an accident". Not the intent, but I still enjoyed this movie as a comedy

Yep, and so many others. They could get easily rid of the gardener while he had his tools, but couldn't beat the girl while naked in the bath. They couldn't carry Sally away at the end but kind of swallowed Kim without any effort... And the list goes on...
I had fun watching it, anyway. If it wasn't a remake we'd probably take it easier.

The reason they were able to get Kim so easily is because there was a rope being fed down the chasm. Witch is where their main force is so u get a lot of them things pulling at once they could easily take here down and since it was her non dominate leg that the rope was wrapped around she had no strength and also if u wrap something by into around your knee and have someone pull your gonna fall. .but the way her knee bent backwards was just plain nasty

These monsters weigh AT MOST 4 pounds each with no muscle definition, but can totally overpower lean, toned adults. I don't care how many fairies are pulling her, she weighs at LEAST 120 lbs and him probably 170 HOW ARE THEY DOING THIS. They have itty-bitty stick arms, I refuse to believe it is just fairy power! That is basically what bothered me most.

The fairies all spoke perfectly good english but I guess I am to assume that they were all english speaking humans once.

Two I noticed, both not exactly holes but very large contrivances:

- For over 100 years, or at least for the several months they were working on updating the house, there apparently was never a full fledged survey or blueprint of the house. The hidden basement was under the staircase, which would have been found the first week of an actual survey.

- The "lost" mural no one ever saw from Blackwood was behind a tarp in the basement...a tarp that architects and home designers would have immediately torn down when investigating the new found basement that should have been discovered several months ago.

Going along with that:

- Months or years of restoration have gone into the house along with thousands and thousands of dollars, but no one ever so much as sweeps the basement. Which is especially weird because we're specifically told it's an exceptional feature for a house in that area.

- Turn of the century police procedure when 2 people go missing in a room? Have the family wall it up, disregard the chasm with human tooth offerings.

- The creatures were 'trapped' before by the grate over the well in the basement until Sally loosed them, but unscrewed the grate themselves after Harris replaced it?

- Sally's myriad issues are always addressed by putting her to bed then going to the opposite end of the house or simply leaving.

- The family didn't want these pictures to be seen, so they made a special donation; they can only be viewed and photographed by ... anybody walking into the library fifteen minutes before closing.

- No one has heard of fire. When the power is cut to the house, no one has a match, a candle, etc., just one anemic flashlight and a Polaroid.

Except its clearly stated that houses in teh area dont have basements, so no one knew it was there.

Sorry, if a bolts not tight its not hard to get it loose, especially since enither of the pushed off bolts were tightened.

When did they say they didnt want them to be seen? published =/= seen, if they didnt want them to be seen period they could have gotten rid of them.

Really, how many of you people actually pay attentionm when you watch movies? really, take 5 minutes and actually watch the movie your watching.

Sally's myriad issues are always addressed by putting her to bed then going to the opposite end of the house or simply leaving.- Hahahahahahahah Priceless observation! I hated this movie,not just because of the idiotic plot holes, but the cardboard unrealistic way in which the characters relate to one another. Seriously......NOONE talks like that!!

The librarian states during The dialogue with Kim that there's rumors of a large mural somewhere in the house but joined could look for it due to the people who was selling the estate

- They put Sally to bed after KNOWING there are monsters in the house after the incident in the Library.

- When they decide to leave the house, when the power goes out, Kim decides to leave Sally ALONE in her room while she decides to go investigate, rather then hauling ass down the steps through the front door.

Let's also not forget that the girl smashed one of them in between two bookshelves but let's not point to it when there's a full room of people. Also, she smashed one in the basement. She could have taken that to a scientist or someone to investigate.

Also, Katie Holmes packed a bag to get the girl out during the party, the events at the party happen and they decide to forget about leaving. Then pack another bag for her a little later after she's asleep and they're trying to leave.

Also, the guy at the library says there's a huge mural in the house. How would he know this if the basement was sealed and the mural was down there?

- They put Sally to bed [[[AND MEDICATED HER]]] after KNOWING there are monsters in the house after the incident in the Library.

when the little girl is taking a bath and the creatures it the lights and attack....she trys to get out of the bathroom (without tunring light on first?) and creatures attack n knock her into tub. tub is suddenly empty.Did she think to pull the plug before escaping? And even if she DID would the tub have totally drained that fast?

OK firstoff I want to say that kids don't think fully let alone when their scared that explains the bathroom incident, as far as them being tiny and weak is explained with a little common sense numbers and speed good maneuverability they went after the camera during the party because they knew she had pictures of them they are always watching just in the shadows the screws were put in using something similar to locktight if u pay close attention to Sally she tries to scratch some off of one of the screws if they was to tell the cops who would really believe them the reason they didn't want anyone investigating the chasim is because they didn't want them released nor dis they want anyone hurt they librarian liked Kate Holmes witch is why he did that for her you can tell by his body chemistry if u pass the film the moment he looks at the photo during the party u will see that the faerie wasn't in it. As far as the monster she killed if u know anything about faerie lore they don't like the light because it Burns them they sh oil York have showed that at some point so those who don't know that but more than likely the body was decentagrated the moment the light came on there was enough time the reason they didn't take Kate after she fell down the stairs is cause she tricked them into believing she was going to help them take Sally they can move small .object get s around without touching them witch is why they were able to unscrew the bolt that the Gardner put in place just like his tools and the drawing cops only do what try hey have to and if some millionare wants parts of his home to remain secret if that's the case it wouldn't show up on the blueprints yes people in their professional field would pull the tarp down but it's really dark thru the first part of the film they only light shown is a kind of sunroof right above it also they are trying to be parents to a child who was just dumped on them and juggle a million other things anyone who is a parent knows it's hard to be through with anything the Gardner said it was an accident because if the faeries heard him say anything they would have all been killed then he didn't regain consiousness until shortly before Kate Holmes showed up to speak with him. I hope this answers your questions as to why this or that happened also when was wet in the bathroom therefore slippery they couldn't land on her also someone talked about her Polaroid the reason it had so many flashes is the same reason Rambo never had to reload the director just assumes you would be intelligent enough to know they had to .trip and doesn't want to bore the viewers with such pointless details :o)
