a rare BBCThree gem...

ive been waiting for the next generation of comedy to break through for a while now. the office is over, alan partridge has gone and the boosh are on the way out (i think) but BBC three has been pretty weak so far.

if anyone has seen "clone" you will know what im talking about. however, this is a little gem that BBC three have found. while not the greatest comedy ever, it is actually very watchable. i just watched the first 3 episodes back to back.

ok so 'Don' is somewhere between david brent and vince noir and it isnt the cleaverest comedy ever there are actually so really funny moments, a few laugh out loud moments also.

its quite safe most the time, but then theres a few darker jokes (most of the kid stuff on the camping episode) and just when you think its very standard and samey a line is thrown in that just makes you laugh out loud (i know its wrong but the line "i think nature is gonna come in my tent and rape me" gets me laughing)

so not a revolution for comedy and not quite the new kid on the block, but much improvement from most of the bbc comedy output for a while, and hopefully it will lead to better and bigger things

I've seen some screencaps re: this show. What is it with some comedy actors/writers (e.g. Jason Segel in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", and now this Dan Clark) that like to indulge in CFNM (Clothed Female Naked Male) scenes?

Do they really think viewers want to see them in the buff, and not the females? I don't think so, somehow.

And what is it with the sex scenes where the females keep their bras on?!

erm well for a start its less offensive for a male to take his top off rather than a female thats pretty obvious. theres no nudity because its a bbc comedy, nudity in the context wouldnt add to the humour so why do it.

So it's more offensive for a female to take her top off than a male, is it? To whom? Not to me.

Adding female nudity to ANY BBC production, be it comedy or drama, may not add to it in terms of the storyline, but it may gain it at least one more viewer, i.e. me.

Shallow? Me? Maybe, but, hey, that's the way I am.

well at least you admitt to your shallowness, and im sure there are plenty out there who would enjoy it to, and im not saying i wouldnt. not sure how well it would go down in eastenders tho ;)

Its rather bad taste, the leading man has few redeeming features but it is funny.

Its that man again!!
