Funeral?

I was re-watching season 1 and something dawned on me-Bitchman insists that Don bury his grandmother(or else they take away the massive free house) in the third episode. Aren't you supposed to bury people 3 days or something like that after their death? Until episode 3 Abby had had time to move in and they even went on a field trip with the kids for an entire week-end. Wtf? :)))
