Why Such a low rating? I liked this film alot.
I don't understand why the average ratng is so low for this movie I know it is rather dark, but I thought the acting and directing was womderful and it actually had AN ORIGINAL STORY.

sharei agree. My girlfriend and i just finished watching this and we both loved it quite a bit! i came here and was surprised at the low rating!!
shareTotally agree! This movie was AMAZING--the acting, cinematography, music, writing--everything! I am so disappointed that it did not get the proper recognition and respect it deserved. Christopher Thornton and Mark Ruffalo poured their hearts and souls into this project, which took ten years to make.
The story, to me anyway, was so unique and powerful on so many different levels.
And Chris was absolutely mesmerizing in every scene. Those blue eyes! Laura Linney played the part of the "devil" A&R person perfectly, as usual. Mark should be very proud of his directorial debut. It's a beautiful film.
But why didn't it get more buzz?
Maybe it's because too much christian haters, I'm just saying.
My mother and I really like it. 8/10.
Please excuse my terrible redaction, english is not my native language.
I doubt it. This is not a "christian" film. Those types of films are always falling all over themselves to sell christianity and are consequently dull as dirt and schmaltzy. This movie was critical of both revivalist christianity (opening scene) and catholicism (priest pandering for donations and then quitting the church when he realized his own failings).
shareI thought it was great and the acting was wonderful. There was a great balance of dark humor and compassion. Finally an original story too. I'd give it an 8.
