Was Uday really this psychotic in real life?

First off, besides the fact that this movie did seem really sensationalized, I thought it was a good movie and I really enjoyed it.

I always figured that Hussein's sons were no saints, along with Hussein himself. But this movie really portrayed Uday as a modern-day Caligula, someone who is entirely sociopathic with no love or care for anyone in the world except himself, no compassion whatsoever for anyone and no moral boundaries of any sort. Was this really how the real Uday was? I don't doubt that a lot of this movie was fictionalized, the romantic plot seemed really forced and fictional as well as the ending, but I want to know if Uday was really this crazy. The things he did in this movie remind me a lot of the old Caligula stories, especially the wedding-day rape, all of the random acts of senseless murder, and the whole "I'm the god of my own little world" mentality.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

He was a sadistic bastard due to power and the total knowledge he was untouchable.
This film only scratched the surface of what he did.

yeah, apparently he was WORSE than saddam!

Yes he was much much worse. Read the details of it here:

Although the above is Latif's account which many journalists and investigators have claimed is completely false, I do not doubt that Uday was much worse then what the movie portrayed. After all, we don’t hear such extreme stories about Qusay or Saddam. It would be very easy to portray the whole family as complete monsters but we only hear these extreme horror stories about Uday. So common sense would lead one to conclude that Saddam and Qusay were just evil while Uday was evil, psychotic, sadistic and mentally unstable.

For example, the scene at the wedding was a combination of two accounts from Latif. The main one they borrowed from was the war hero had just married his wife and they were walking together hand in hand when the wife was grabbed by Uday's men. The rest of the movie explains what happens. Except that after she jumped the husband curses Uday for which he is sentenced to death. I won’t spoil the rest of that article but let’s just say what you will read will make the movie seem like a "G' rated movie.

Yes. If the following link doesn't work look up "Uday Hussein's use of Human's as retrievers for duck hunting to Ray Martins Astonishment" on Youtube. https://youtu.be/7EbO0RdxKXA

Most of his life is fiction and very little of it has been verified by reliable sources. Latif Yahia is NOT a reliable source, and is a well known pathological liar, scumbag and woman beater.

About the only thing that we do know actually happened is the killing of Saddam's personal food taster Kamel Hana Gegeo. Nothing else is really verified.

The guy was a huge scumbag for sure, but it's very hard to find any reliable information about him. Baathist Iraq is in many ways like North Korea today, and it's very hard to separate fact from fiction.
