Superior, Realistic Looking Fight Scenes

When your leading actress is also a leading stunt woman, you can do a lot more and this movie delivers in spades. We normally get the sylistic fights, with fast-editing, poor lighting, extreme close-up shots, unsteady camera work, people flying through the air using either mini tramps or wire work and the music is pumped up. It is so fake.

In Angel of Death the fights look like real fights. Of course, real fights are usually over quickly as the body/head can't take the punishment we often see in the movies. Also, it is hard to watch a woman take the beatings Zoe Bell takes in this film.

I saw this movie on Spike and I will buy the DVD, because Zoe Bell (and the film-makers) made it so real looking, just like the work she did on the hood of the car in Grindhouse. Please, more Zoe Bell.

I agree with the OP. The were really good. With different actors and stunt people, the filmmakers have to "cheat", and compromise with the choreography, and often it doesn't quite look right. This is probably more often the case with ladies in films than the guys. I thought the fight and action sequences were really gritty and tangible. I would use the word "realistic", but people assume you mean something you don't when you say that.

Anyhow I thought the the film wasn't perfect, but kept me entertained and not bored for the full length, had lots of awesome bits in it. One of the best movies I've seen in a while.

The fights were horrible.

Zoe Bell is good with falls and maybe she's a trained fighter.
But on screen; her acting and fighting suck.

I just saw this movie and completely agree with the OP. The fight choreagraphy was so much better than the garbage you usually see these days.
