I actually liked it
I surprised myself and liked this film.
Spoiler Alert-
First, I like the interaction between Belinda and Lee. He reaches out to her over and over. At first, she blows him off but she begins to like him. I like the scene where he brings her lunch and then when he helps her with the bottles. And, how he stands up for her before the town. When death strikes, he goes to her immediately and she bares her heart to him. She wouldn't have done that with anyone else but it is obvious that she trusts him. I like how Lee encourages her that she is doing her best. He shows he cares when he is getting nothing in return, which makes it even more impressive.
Second, I like the way they show her struggle with her faith. It seemed natural how she finally begins to reach out to God again and the answer she receives was nicely done too.
Third, I like the story line. I didn't totally know where it was going and I enjoyed that. There were a few surprises although I thought the fire was a little silly.
Fourth, I liked the girl that played Belinda. She had a sweetness to her but also a strength that showed in her care for the patients. She was a good actress and you could feel her pain and turmoil.
Speaking of Belinda, some have wondered why she didn't have the spunk that she had in the previous movie. This is my opinion-she has grown up, she has been in medical school under great pressure to succeed and she has watched her husband die a lingering death that would rip your heart in pieces. No wonder she wasn't bouncing off the walls with joy! You can see some of the spunk when she stands up to Ray. She has matured.
Love Comes Softly will always be my favorite but Love Takes Wing is definitely in the top five.
