Oh for the love!!!! *angry* (spoiler warning)

Would they stop--

SPOILER WARNING!!!!!!

killing off the guys????

reply

EXACTLY!!! I mean come on....I told my mom the same thing.

reply

How does Drew die? Or does it say?

reply

He died of Tuberculosis. Belinda talks about having to watch him slowly die and not being able to do anything about it.

I don't get it either. I was also wondering why they are killing off the guys. Sheesh. I love the movies but whoa.

reply

Thank god I'm not the only one that hate this.

Miss Independent/ She got her own!!

reply

Um, YEAH. This is getting out of control... they've already replaced half the cast; at least get a new actor for him!

"I called you in."
"Why, because your spidey-sense tells you she was a rape victim?"

reply

I don't see why is it so hard to recast a male actor, when it comes naturally for them to cast the female lead roles. Ok so Katherine Heigl got the chance to play her role in two films, but then they recast her. Erin got to keep her role in four films. But with they have not had an issue recasting Belinda at all. All ready played by 3 different actors and worst of all their all different hair colored actresses! The first one is read hair, the second one is brown hair and the third one is a blond. So why is it so hard to recast the male actors?

From what I have understood they killed off Missy's husband because the actor didn't look the part of an older man. SO why not recast him? The same thing happen to Belinda's husband, why not recast him? I guess they find it more interesting to write the story of a woman who's husband dies.

reply

Thank GOODNESS this is the LAST one! lol.

reply

I'm so happy it's the last one, I'm sorry to say I won't miss it, but the last two movies wasn't that good.

reply

By now you probably know that this wasn't the last one. Love Finds a Home came out at the same time on the Hallmark Channel.

reply

They always bump off the first husband and the second husband survives. It's a family tradition!

I don't understand why they BUTCHERED the Love Comes Softly series. I mean, the books were FANTASTIC and just as they were they would have made GREAT movies. But JEEZE!!!!! About half way through movie #2 the books were forgotten. I can't imagine what Janette Oke must think of what they've done to her characters. And the movies still say "Based on the book by Janette Oke". NO!!!!! They've been based on CHARACTERS by Janette Oke for a long time now. Some changes I've been able to understand. For example, in the first one it made sense for them to make Missy older in the movie instead of a toddler like she was in the book. But killing Willy, totally ignoring the trip out west, ignoring the fact that Clark looses his leg, moving Belinda west and not east...WHAT IS GOING ON HERE????????????? I'm just so aggrivated I can't type anymore.

Please, Lou Diamond Phillips, get together with Michael Landon Jr. and start over. I like these movies, but they aren't at all based on the books so many of us love. Start with Love's Enduring Promise and take another shot at it. There's so much potential there for a MUCH better movie series!! And for heaven's sake, bring back Logan Bartholomew!!!!!

reply

thank you thank you!!! finally someone else who has read the book as is upset about the movies!!!!!!!!! I love Janette Oke and all that she has written, and the books are amazing! I could stand the first movie, stuck OK to the book...stopped watching after the third because it was sooooo different!!!! I'm really, really, really hoping they aren't planning on making movies based on the Prairie Legacy series, though I don't know how they would get into that...

*sigh*

reply

I'm with you on the whole book/movie thing. The books are awesome! The first three movies weren't to terribly bad but after I watched LAJ I didn't really want to watch any other movie that came out. But for some reason curiosity got the better of me and I've seen all the movies.

A couple things that have bothered me about the series is - Adding characters who aren't even in the books and then killing off main characters and having characters from the books in the first couple of movies (Aaron and Arnie) and then having them completely disappear without any word on what happened to them. To many continuity issues in the movies.

With the way Love Finds a Home ended I have the feeling they will be turning the Prairie Legacy books into movies now. I'm kinda scared to see how much they'll hack those books to pieces if they do in fact turn them into movies.

I stopped watching the series when they killed off Willie. He was my favorite, and I just don't understand why they did it, since I don't think he dies in the book.

I haven't read the books, but I was wondering if all the first husbands die in the books, just seems really weird!

reply

lol, i was thinking the same thing. i'm watching them marathon the movies on hallmark today and it's ridiculous how the husbands die in every movie.

reply

That was my exact reaction! It was bad enough with Willie. Can they not think of other storylines?! It seems like they're stretching how far people will stick with this series. I'd rather see a couple stay together and see their relationship progress...

reply

If an actor is cast as a first husband of the female lead, watch out ..... your character is going to die.

reply

Goodness they replaced the whole cast!

*January Jones was the first elder missy who they replaced with Erin for next 5 movies.

*They killed Willie(logan) and replaced him with Zach(victor) as Missie's husband.

*They replaced the original female lead Katherine Heigl with Samantha smith who appeared in minor role in only 2 movies and they diminished or erased marty role' for 3 movies after 2nd one which had heigl as last.

*Now they swapped Belinda 3 times and her husband 2 times.

for crying out loud sake! Marty & Missy were female leads who were in all movies and they replaced both of them by this movie almost thrice ...then belinda the female lead in last 2 movies who was also replaced thrice. Only Clark Remained same as marty's 2nd husband(she was also married once before).....they replaced missy's husband twice and belinda's twice.

All three female leads change almost thrice and their husband twice.

I mean seriously? WTF?

reply

I was just watching Love Takes Wing and was thinking the same thing! why do they keep killing off all the husbands?! Just recast them. Did all the husbands die in the books? If the movies are supposed to be based heavily on the books, you'd think they'd keep the husbands alive.

I also don't like how Belinda suddenly has no faith. She had faith when her parents and sisters died and told that lady in the last movie that after she lost her children, she should have faith no matter what. But just from her husband dying, she loses it? Right...

I really enjoyed "Love Comes Softly". It was mostly downhill after that one in my opinion.
