It was funny. A couple of the highlights are the office-themed kills and the reaction shots from the guys in the security office. The office kills theme was a fairly funny gimmick, and at least explained by the overall story as opposed to thrown in for no real reason with no explanation. And the security cam reaction was just timed perfectly; good comedy timing is pretty rare these days. Plus there was just a lot of little feelgood moments for me. Like Zach Galifianakis having a part in a movie that's ACTUALLY funny, but they have to keep him off camera for like 98% of the film to accomplish that. That's funny. It wasn't "art," it wasn't "brilliant" but it kept me entertained and laughing. So-called comedies these days don't. I don't see what's so funny about clichéd and moronic "40-year old virgin with a hangover and bridesmaids and Carell and Farrell and Apatow" and all of the other totally unfunny BS parading thru movie screens for the last few years. I rated Operation Endgame with a 7.5 (rounded up for IMDB) because it’s actually entertaining.

Plus, Richard Kelly is listed as a producer. His stuff just really speaks to me and anything he's written is just brilliant as far as I'm concerned. He didn't write OE, but lending his name as producer is enough for me to give any movie the benefit of the doubt. I did, and was glad I did. All the hate for OE is simply teenybopper Galafanatics piling the hate on because their stoner poopoo humor hero was relagated to the background in favor of FAR more talented actors and comics.

A 5 is low... a decent comedy could easily get a 7 on here.
