There were a ton of jokes/reference I don't think this generation

Of kids would get??? Maybe I could be wrong but the talks of Starship Troopers/Fred Savage/Wu Tang must have flown over their heads??? Are there any other reference in the film that Teenagers today would probably not get???

reply

I'm 21 and laughed very hard on the Starship Troopers reference. I don't think it's necessarily the fact that teenagers won't get it as much as people who don't watch a lot of movies won't get it. I saw Starship Troopers when I was around 12 or 13 years old, so had I seen Harold & Kumar Christmas back then I would've laughed at that reference.

Plus, Wu Tang is timeless.

On that note, awesome to see RZA show up as well. Especially loved him with the fro wig and the Cosby sweater. I'd buy a Christmas tree any day.

I do think that the majority of teenagers of this generation will not get these jokes. There will be a few who have seen Starship Troopers, that know Fred Savage from that episode of Family Guy, and who will grow up on some 'old school' hip hop.

But even they will miss the Bill Cosby sweatshirt and not realize that Savage is know for Wonder Years. I'm 22 and technically I shouldn't know about Savage or Cosby, because it's not my generation but I do.

There’s no one on IMDB I care enough for to use spell check- suck it grammar Nazis

I love the joke NPH made when he was going up to Heaven and he felt like a 90's celebrity... I was the only one laughing at that one, lol.. And, the reference to Snoop Dog about how he has so many kids as a smoked out stoner when weed suppose to affect your sperm count, lol....

Was it 80's??? I must've been laughing so hard and I couldn't hear.. I went to see this one in 3-D Cinemark Enhance edition or something like that...

reply

No it was 90s celebrity. I and the people I went with all mentioned the 90s celebrity joke being hilarious...

Actually, I was in a group of older people and I was the youngest. Barely anyone got the jokes and they didn't even get the white house joke.

reply

It was early 90s celebrity.. I thought that was hilarious

Or maybe not, lol.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAkyqtoZTzQ

The one joke that I don't think anyone in my theater aside from my brother and I got, was when Adrian told Kumar that he told Mary that he worked in the White House.

reply

Because in real life he works in The White House's Office of Public Engagement as an Associate Director

Somehow, five people laughed when Adrian referred to Harold as 'Sulu' and only my friend and I laughed at Adrian lying about Kumar working for The White House.

Giddy-up, goat!

And the theater was one-third full.
