Twin Peaks?

Is it just me or does DCTT seem strikingly similar to David Lynch's classic Twin Peaks. Apart from the series being based on a murder in a small town, filled with humor and surrealism, I suppose the similarity ends. DCTT not only has a much darker tone than the majority of KITH's work (which was often quite dark) but a lot of the humor is much more subtle, with the writing focusing a bit more on the drama of the plot.

I'm not criticizing KITH if they are in fact influenced by Lynch (which I know for a fact, McCullogh is), just merely pointing out an observation.

Some of the old KITH skits were rather 'Lynchian'. I never got to see all the episodes, but I remember 'Love and Sausages' (a Bruce effort, I believe) in particular being EXTREMELY similar to Eraserhead.

"It's just a movie" is no excuse for treating us like idiots!

The League of Gentlemen might have also be a source of inspiration.

By the end of the first episode I said the exact thing to my wife, and she agreed.

If we are gonna say ot similar to Twin Peaks beacuse it features a death in a small town then it's logical to make the assumption that's it's 'strikingly similar' to Murder She Wrote too.

Silly comparison.

Well, Bruce does have an ode to Eraserhead on his solo album.
