Really funny but...

The cat being kept alive is really depressing.
Maybe it's personal (veterinary nurse with an ill animal in the house)
but I think many others can identify with the pain and difficulty in "calling it" when a pet gets very old or ill.
Love the series, but that didn't seem like black humor to me,
it was just totally depressing.
My 2 cents.

It's even more depressing that veternarians charge extra if you want to be present with your pet when it's being put down.

Dare I say, the whole damn subject is depressing.
I don't know why a cat being kept alive in constant pain/prolonged medical torture would be considered funny in any way whatsoever.
Probably the first time KITH have missed the target of hilarity/brilliance for me.

Being a fan of cats and not torturing them, I thought it was pretty funny. Because the cat was so obviously fake, and it was 32, and its owner was just insane, I think it crossed the boundary of reality enough to make it less depressing.

You know, Wobbles...I'm kinda mad at you.

I suppose it's hit or miss. Just because it upsets me doesn't mean it's bad or wrong per se. So there ya have it. Depressing to some, not depressing to others.

your right how about this vet goes and bitches somewhere else before pretending to be empathetic when they work in on of the least reputable and biggest rippoff "health service" out there

I don't think it was meant to be laugh-out-loud funny. The guy was obviously too attached to his kitty and in denial to realize the torture he was putting it through, going broke to pay for all the medical treatment and the nurse. I think it was more just tackling an issue like euthanasia, or with abortion or capital punishment. I think the Kids just like to bring forward those subjects that are very controversial and hold them up to everyone. I don't know, maybe to allow us to laugh at the subject a little? I have a history of not getting the point or explaining my thoughts properly, so I'm probably not making much sense. :)

Yeah, I get it.
Maybe I'm too close to the matter to find the humor in it though.
Too close to home, dig?

... but the cat was on the bus with Death at the end.

i didnt think it was that depressing. i am cat owner. my cat died four months ago but i still laughed.

The joke isn't the dying cat...it's the pathetic public defendant who's sacrificing his whole life to keep him alive. We're supposed to be laughing at this loser of a man who won't do the right thing because he's too much of a wimp to find love from a woman. I'm a cat owner and animal lover, but I truly can't believe you're depressed over a twitching puppet.

I've lost many cats in my life, one by cancer, another by a failing liver, others by getting ran over in the street. And I still laughed at this show. The whole entire thing is about a murder, how come nobody is getting offended by that and saying it's too depressing? If you can't laugh at life, you'll go insane.

reply

No I thought it was funny.

The joke was not about saying goodbye to a pet, but it was about those people who fail to see that their animal is suffering due to their selfishness in NOT saying goodbye.

Both my husband and I are HUGE animal lovers, and have TONS of pets, and we thought it was hilarious. I mean the cat was just so pathetic, and was like "kill me PLEASE!!!'

And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future.
