great british horror

Hi Peeps.
i too watched this film in the Dublin Horrorthon, and felt it was a real suprise film.
I hadn't expected too much as i knew nothing about the film, but was really drawn in by it.
It felt like i was watching a fairytale, but the food angle was the nightmare.
For me, the filmmakers got that bit just right (havent seen it done well enough before), as it wasn't overblown, but everytime i laid eyes on the food i knew what was in it, most evident in the opening 10 minutes or so, when the group of friends get to the farmhouse, and we see the food for the first time.
Like someone else on her commented, the tongue scene is outrageous! but had my g/f covering her eyes... and that was worth the admission price alone!
PS. like it when my g/f starts to get the creeps/ scared by films... means i'm gonna get laid... and laid i did!!!

ok.

all the great gore and terrible acting (as to be expected from a low budget cannibal flick) this movie afforded me does not account for the festival of suck it provided.

nothing not seen before, but even for a 78 min. film...get the goddamn lead out and make things mildly interesting. the other reviews made the film sound like a diamond in the rough, when it was more like a sequin in the dress in the closet in the attic. yikes.

i can't even say that a budget would have helped move things along unless that budget rewrote and recast this thing and gave it a potentially original approach to a subgenre that still hasn't quite explored every possibility.

i hope that the next time people eat a meatpie after having viewed this film they think, "well, at least it's not made of people. and at least i don't ever have to watch that movie again. can you pass the gravy? and the remote? i wonder what else is on..."
