Any recomendations?

I just got dead space, watched it and thought it was pretty good and hoping to play the game soon, im not a big anime fan but im a huge horror fan just wondering if theres any other animes like this

My Father In-law used to own a Japanese Animation store, I'm not a huge anime freak either, however, I have never seen anything as violent and graphic as this. So it's hard to point you to anything near as horrific as Dead Space, I'm sure there is something, I just can't think of anything. It's not nearly as gore laden, but I highly recommend the Vampire Hunter D series. Pretty hard core with a cool story.

The game is going to rock now...

I'm not a big anime watcher either but from what I've seen of a series called 'Helsing' you might be interested in that. As far as I can tell it's full of gore and monsters, basically what Dead Space contains but has a better story.

My Pet Goat has a better story than this pile of poop.

First, I'd like to state that this is in not anime. There's a difference between anime and animation. I'm a fan of several anime, and this is not the same style. It's western-style animation made in the U.S.

That being said, it's good background before you play the game. Sets the scene rather well. The animation is average by modern standards and almost all of the objects and environment are CGI, but it meshes with the animation effectively.

My main gripe would have to be with the framerate of the animation. During normal talking scenes it's hardly noticeable, but when the action hits, 6 frames a second doesn't cut it.

I would have done it a bit differenly myself and worked the story more instead of making people act irrationally as a device to advance the plot like so many horror films end up doing, but as it is it's okay. Nothing spectacular but not horrible. I'd say it's worth watching and formulating your own opinion on.

Actually you are wrong. It was made in Japan.

I do believe in you... I just know you are going to fail.

And you're looking too deep into things, plenty of people use the term anime as a shortened version of the word animation.

Besides, it doesn't matter what country it comes from, it's all just cartoons no matter which way you look at it, so what does it matter if someone calls them all anime or not? They're not exactly wrong.

This movie is a total ripoff of the old MTV-series Aeon Flux - but in a good way. Still Aeon Flux is much better.

reply

Because one character is a skinny female, this is now a blatant rip-off of a TV show?

man, you're a moron.

reply

No, because of the animation style. You are a moron, ma'am.

reply

Animation style? It is a ripoff of Aeon Flux because of the animation style? Look in the mirror to find the real moron.

If you got something interesting or smart, or just anything regarding the movie to say, let us know.

If you liked this (I didn't), I'd recommend MD Geist and Ninja Scroll.

KANAAADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

If you like that try Ghost in the Shell.

Been thinking about picking this up ( played the game and liked it ) but if the story isn't really there I might get really bored.

yeah this did remind me a lot of the animated spawn movies. there was also a sense that i was watching doom 3 for a lot of it. nevertheless as a movie based on a game i think it pulled it off alright compared to other adaptations out there.

i don't watch a lot of western animu but there's a new batman made by some japanese folks that also looks pretty nice. they also made a halo anime but i heard it was pretty dumb.
