One Thing I Didn't Get... SPOILERS

How the hell did the kids drug them??? We never saw the parents eat or drink anything after the *beep* started. Help!

They made something on the stove and mixed the drugs with it

And the parents inhaled the drugs through the steam while it was simmering on the stove? I don't recall seeing either of the parents eating or drinking on that night. Definitely didn't eat any tomato sauce or whatever the kids were cooking. Sort of a thread that never got picked up.

-someone suggested it was gas from the stove,
my guess is also that the father is less responsive because he was hit several times to his head by various means- being dragged/falling down the stairs being one of them -w-

It is the one point of the film that bothers me. At no point to the parents eat the "soup" or tomato paste or whatever it is the kids drugged. Are we to assume off-screen the kids force fed the stuff to the mom and dad?

It's a small point but a major issue if we are to buy into the thought that the kids would kill and eat their parents post credits. Mom though is still alive and kicking while as some others pointed out dad maybe gone already as he took several good blows to the head.

Love the film and it all works great TILL that one bit. Wish the director or writer would come on here and tell us what happened!

Oh and almost forgot... the police in that small parish town do not work on Easter?? Leaving these two obviously dangerous children with their parents, and then for the parents to not tie them up or clock them somewhere... okay more than one plot problem!!

Also, not that the whole movie wasn't one big gaping plot hole, but they show a whole plate full of pills. So if the kids used their pills, why are the pills on the plate still?
