Season 3: Lacking?

I don't know, I could be just me, but I felt as though this season was lacking. I think that the last 2 seasons were pretty good, and this year too has had some amazing talent. Somehow I just felt like there were some things wrong or missing within this season:

1. Yes, there was a ton of talent, but there wasn't really a need for a Top 22. Some of those dancers shouldn't have been in this season and could have come back next season (I won't give names, but if you watch the show, I think you will be able to tell which ones). Maybe about 4-5 of the contestants would not survive on the US version of SYTYCD.

2. Not enough routines. Usually around the top 12 or 10 they start making the dancers perform 2 routines. Because this was not done this time around, the dancers were not able to showcase their versatility (if any) as much as the previous seasons. As a result, some of the dancers were stuck with mostly hip hop/ mostly contemporary styles/etc. I also felt like the season needed better ballroom (or it could be that it just wasn't danced well).

3. The judges talk too much, in particular Jean-Marc. They talk a lot about how talented they are and how great they did even when they sometimes didn't. Plus, they very rarely give criticism and it's almost as if they like everything. so how can they possibly criticize the public for not voting properly if they always love everything the dancers do?!

4. Of course, the show has always been lacking of a good host. Leah comes off as somewhat fake to me and insincere with her compliments to the dancers.(Sorry Leah, but you NEED to go!)

5. A few of the good dancers were eliminated too soon (eg. Hani, Yoni, Julia), and they were incredible talent that possibly could've improved how some of the later routines were danced that weren't as good as others.

6. The auditions somewhat bore me, not because there aren't enough "bad dancers", but because there are too many contemporary dancers. I really love contemporary, but some of the auditioners are slightly mediocre, yet some still get through to the Finals. I'm sort of thinking that the judges give out too many Finals Week tickets.

If there was anything that I did enjoy this season, it would be Finals week featuring Lazy Legz.- That will be my season highlight. What does anyone else think of this season?

I'd love to post a lengthy reply stating why I agree with everything you said, but I am very, very lazy right now. In short, you're super right on every one of those points. Especially #3 and #4.

I rarely agree 100% with a post but this time, I do.
