In Greek mythology did Hercules have a group of warriors with him. My only knowledge of Hercules stories are from the old Kevin Sorbo show, where he had the 1 ally always with him and was also frinds with Jason of Cornith(sp?). If the mythology never included a group it kind of seems like they borrowed from Thor and his companions...Lady Sif and the Warriors 3.

He did have companions such as squires, charioteers (Iolaus) or ocassional companions such as Theseus, or herald like Lichas...but not exactly as shown in this movie or comic books. Not the band of merry men/women he goes to every quest with.
shareIt's interesting that in the movie they say that he did his labors alone while dropping hints that he didn't. If you stay through the end credit you will see the same scenes (with the boar, the lion, etc), but this time you see the whole team fighting.
I like the take of the movie where Hercules has a public relation agent that manages his demigod image, while they work as a team. It's intelligent and realistic, even if a bit too modern !
