Just because they're Thai doesn't mean they're absolute experts at whatever style of martial art they were using, nor does it mean they are guaranteed a victory just by using a specific style. Two on one, now that's a different story, there I can see the lack of realism, but every fighting style I've ever seen has been better than one and worse than another. In this context, it means very little.
