Leslie's hoarding a character inconsistency?

I realize that most of the first season is kind of downplayed/retconned out when they started season 2 with a far better, more capable, less ditzy Leslie whose biggest flaw is that she can accomplish anything for Pawnee unless the townsfolk ruin it... But is her house being a complete psycho mess a major character inconsistency or what? They mention it once when she starts dating Ben, then we never see her struggle with it again. Her city council office is always immaculate. And most of all, her whole life is insanely organized, with entire binders devoted to the smallest processes. I know it's POSSIBLE that all that clutter was somehow "organized" in her mind, but it seems to go against everything else we know of Leslie. I'm thinking it was an example of a writers' room saying, "Wouldn't it be funny if..." without thinking through implications for the character.

I always take it that she's so busy/focused on her work life and those around her that her home life gets pushed to the side.

That actually makes perfect sense!

I wouldn't necessarily call it an inconsistency. She probably had plans to make all of those newspaper clippings and clutter into scrapbooks at some point. Plus, she was always so busy with work, making binders, creating scrapbooks, helping everyone else, etc., that she didn't have time to clean her own house.

But, I do agree in a way, in that I think it is one of those things from the early seasons that isn't quite in line with what the characters ended up settling into being after the show really found its groove. They don't use her cluttered house aside from the dinner party episode and a few throwaway mentions of it in later episodes.

Let's try and be constructive here, people.
