Question

The bit where the 2 are discussing her old home and she says something along the lines of "it was never free i could never call it home". was this a reference to her upbringing that gave her mental problems, or have i missed something? Also, when she is waiting for her dad, what exactly does she tell her dad? I was quite tired by this point so wasn't paying 100% attention. Did she warn him to stay away from her friend or something?
