WHY?

Just saw the beginning on one of the Encore Channels and the beginning is what always leaves me asking why?

The young lady at the beginning has called some guy on the phone to tell him that "it" had gotten out. She's telling him that the Dinowolf (or whatever the Hell) is on the loose.

Then the man on the other end of the phone is suddenly attacked and is screaming for his life over the phone. The girl, then proceeds to yell over the phone his name (I'll use "Dan" since I can't real his real name).

"Dan! Dan!" she's shouting out. She continues to try to get him to respond by more or less asking him to say something!

Hey honey, can't you hear the growling and flesh tearing on the other end of the phone? Can't you hear him screaming and crying out? WTF makes you think he can come to the phone?

Do you think he's gonna ask the werewolf to stop so he can tell her what's happening? This stupid nonsense happens on B horror movies all the time. It's obvious someone is being choked or attacked but the idiot on the other end keeps hollering "Susie? Susie, what's the matter?" (an example only).

If I hear the person on the other end struggling and hear growling and screaming I'm pretty sure they can't come to the phone....
