Are French high schools actually like this?

All these kids seem kind of mature-looking and sophisticated. And teachers sleeping with students is usually a fire-able if not jail-able offense. I don't know if it's a matter of France just being very different from America or that French films don't always realistically portray France any more than Hollywood films realistically portray America.
