Where's the Houston traffic.

Houston isn't mentioned in filming locations, but he was suppose to be driving into Houston. Is traffic ever that light there? I can't imagine it is.

at the end of the movie credits, they did thank the City of Houston.

But, I can say the aquarium, and the restaurant where the kid gets lost were filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The downtown skyscraper scenes and them driving around was in Houston. Guess they did close off traffic or something, Houston traffic is nuts!

Anyone consider the possibility that he drove in during the early afternoon, in between rush hours??

There is never a "down" time for traffic in Houston, especially on the main roads and highways. It's crazy 24 hours a day.

It looks like he was driving around the Downtown, Allen Parkway, Waugh Drive area. The traffic in this area is not bumper to bumper during the afternoon.

There is traffic, but its not too bad. Anything after 4 p.m. is a problem however.

If they shot the scenes over the weekend, the traffic would be light also.

I was thinking it was Memorial Drive. My guess is it might have been a Sunday afternoon.

It depends on the day of the week and time of the day. I owned a house in LI NY and a house in Lake Conroe TX. I would fly into Houston airport quite often and never had a problem with traffic if I timed my flights right. I now live in SC and drive to NY for visits. The traffic in NY city is 10 times worst than any traffic I ever went through in Houston.

I thought for sure they would have shot it in the Galleria area, especially with the Waterwall.

Oh well.
