I'm shocked but I think this is becoming one of my favorite movies

Before watching Crazy Heart I have never EVER listened to country music. I don't dislike it, but I just did not care for it as well. However, for some reason this film just got under my skin and won't let go. I have now seen it around 5-6 times and I know its flaws: the singing is not the best, it has its corny moments, a bit predictable as well. Yet for some reason I just keep going back to it.

The film just feels so honest, Jeff Bridges is fantastic as always and really sets the mood. I like Maggie and Colin after this film a lot more as well. I might be wrong, but I think in a few years this film will be somewhat similar to Shawshank Redemption: acclaimed when it came out, then completely forgotten and rediscovered again.

For some unexplained reason I always feel deeply moved by this film and it is highly enjoyable as well. Hope I'm not the only one here.

I thought it was a rather good movie, for what it was, but I don't think it will become a classic or anything. It sure made me like country music though. Well, I loved the music in this, but I don't listen to country music now. I thought the acting was great. Had it not been, I don't think this movie would have been very good at all. But thinking it over now, it was a fairly good movie. I thought the ending was quite powerful.

No expectations, no disappointments.

This was an extremely moving movie about real people with real problems. No politics, corruption or underlying agendas like so many movies these days. The actors are some of my favorites. I don't like country music at all, but country people are so genuine, so this movie really touches my heart as well...must be crazy, LOL.
