I'm shocked but I think this is becoming one of my favorite movies
Before watching Crazy Heart I have never EVER listened to country music. I don't dislike it, but I just did not care for it as well. However, for some reason this film just got under my skin and won't let go. I have now seen it around 5-6 times and I know its flaws: the singing is not the best, it has its corny moments, a bit predictable as well. Yet for some reason I just keep going back to it.
The film just feels so honest, Jeff Bridges is fantastic as always and really sets the mood. I like Maggie and Colin after this film a lot more as well. I might be wrong, but I think in a few years this film will be somewhat similar to Shawshank Redemption: acclaimed when it came out, then completely forgotten and rediscovered again.
For some unexplained reason I always feel deeply moved by this film and it is highly enjoyable as well. Hope I'm not the only one here.
