I respect opinions, but if you don't like this movie, you're wrong.

I'm deeply saddened by how underrated this film. Not only is it my favorite Scream film, but it's one of my favorite films of all time.

It revives everything that made the original films so spectacular and takes it all one step further. It perfectly adapts the wit and social commentary of the original to the modern age, which brings it to a whole new level of meta, due to the fact that the whole concept of "meta" is heavily present in modern horror films and the movie even references that aspect of modern horror. So it's being meta while talking about meta.

The killer reveal is SPECTACULAR and truly elevates the film, adding excitement, shock, and energy. Plus, the film is just overall fun, smart, well-shot, wildly entertaining, appropriately dark, boundary-pushing, humorous, fresh, engaging, and one hell of a good time.

You can have your gripes about it but there's a certain point where you have to recognize a damn good movie.

Awesome, I don't respect you since you're a smug idiot.

you can't be wrong for not liking a movie.

I know. It was a joke/exaggeration. I guess it just didn't hit :/

I still like this movie but the original is far superior, in my opinion.

This slasher flick is very much a CUT above other similar movies in this kind of genre given the fact that it's a 4th installment.

This is the 2nd best movie after the first in the franchise, and one of the best slashers from the 2010s. It has major flaws and missed opportunities, but there was a lot of effort and originality out into it and resembles the first movie more than the 2nd or 3rd movie.

 I apologize for any spelling/grammar mistakes. I'm on my phone 90% of the time.

As a Scream fan I don't see how anyone who loves Scream could dislike this film. It's a good Scream sequel. But in also saying that it definitely has its negatives. Some of the messages of the film get lost in the film.

To the OP: ??

How anyone could think this isn't as good as the original trilogy is truly bewildering to me. It is streets ahead of Scream 3. It's fun, has some amazing gore, and isn't as morose as 3 was. Since it doesn't appear were gonna get parts 5 and 6, it is a perfect series ender for me. I'm grateful it even happened in the first place. Never in a million years did I expect we'd get a Scream 4.

It's a near-perfect slasher. My only real nitpick is that the ending is too tidy. But we know what happened there.

I agree, this is a great movie. It's my favorite of the franchise and my number one favorite horror movie! The fact that four movies in this series can still surprise me shows how great this movie is.

It's style and tone are too jarring next to the original trilogy for me to be able to accept it. I particularly despise it's score. The cast are supposed to be playing characters the same age as the ones in the original Scream but they all appear much younger further more this fault is further accentuated by having them ride around in cars(Kirby)and generally act as if there all much older.

The cast can't stand next to the original cast members without looking like toddlers in comparison, this is in spite of the fact that the original cast members could all walk back into their characters circa Scream 2 at the least.

The film looks terrible, it has this weird colour drenched all over it, yellow I think. In 1080p its just painful to look at never mind any lower definition. The scene were the cop dies in particular is where it hits a peak in this respect the entire screen is just yellow it as if the Liberal Democrats or the Libertarians thought hold on a minute lets have a party political broadcast.

Then there's the sound which the film itself seems to parody's with the song that plays over the credits and Blu-ray menu "YOU BETTER BELIVE IN KARMA BECAUSE BABY IT'S GOING TO STING, THE WAY LOVE LIFE'S GONNA DO YOU IN!!!!!!!!!!" BAD KARMA!!!!! It's painful to listen to and just not fun at all but they all seem to be having a blast, it's as if there's a party going on that I'm more then welcome to go to but it's being arranged by someone who doesn't know me or the films themselves and as such arranged a living nightmare abate a party with the best intentions. As for the songs on the credits and such as I said they seem to be in on the joke that the film is just noisy.

Older generations will remember the adds for Hi-Fi's that said "This one goes all the way to 11" and thus the expression "Let's turn things to 11" and similar came about. This has me worried because this is scream 4 and they say the loudest Scream is the last so Scream 11 seems like a good Scream to end on but it's painful at Scream 4.

Frankly if they intend to carry on like that then I do not want any one involved with Scream 4 back the same goes for the TV series.

Speaking of the TV series a feeling I get when I watch it is that if they were ever to make a feature film it couldn't be anymore than Scream 4 if it tried even with infinite resources to make it, Scream 4 seems devised to open the door to low quality future films that were supposed to embrace but mainly the TV series itself, Scream 4 in that respect is like a back door pilot for the TV series.
