Be great to get a Scream 5

and it would be fun if the main characters all had kids now so that when they make Scream 6 the kids can all be in high school and things start up again.

I might like to see the original movie in an actual theater.

I've wanted to see the original in the theater for so long. It'd be perfect to rerelease it this year given the 20 year anniversary, but I haven't heard anything.

Did you guys not see the original in the theater?

reply

I don't know about the other poster, but I was about 5 when it came out.

I was only 15 and didn't think that I could pass for 18 in 1997 when Scream came out in England.

I was only 10 so didn't stand a chance of getting in. The only one I saw in the cinema was Scream 4 and it was *beep* The TV series is also *beep*

I was just getting into Scream as the third one was coming out, but I couldn't get my mom to take me. Ironically, she did take me to Scary Movie a few months later.

I was 23 when Scream came out so I'm happy that I got to see it in the theater, it was a packed house. The theater I went to that night isn't even around anymore. I remember right after this came out we started to get the stadium theaters popping up. I'm glad I was as old as I was now hearing how many people didn't get to see it in the theater.

I was able to see the original trilogy in theaters on opening day.

When Scream (1996) premiered, my relatives were visiting for the holidays. Since I was under 18 at the time, one of my cousins purchased a ticket for everybody as a Christmas present. The cashier at the window didn't say anything, nor did the usher.

Again, with Scream 2 (1997), I was also able to view it in theaters. I distinctly remember being slightly perturbed by the bathroom stall stabbing scene, especially watching it in a cinema!

By the time Scream 3 (2000) rolled around, I was old enough to purchase a ticket and gain admittance. Since it opened in February, I went alone, but it was still fun nonetheless.

As for Scream 4 (2011)...well, I decided to skip it. I had read a bunch of mixed reviews at the time, and people seemed generally unenthusiastic. They proclaimed it didn't have the existing value as the original three.

Until recently, I decided to give it a shot since I was having a marathon of every Scream movie. To my surprise, it actually turned out quite good.

While it lacked that '90s feeling, SCRE4M still had its moments. I especially like the fact that it contained the original cast and director Wes Craven.

If there's ever a fifth installment (excluding Scream: The TV Series (2015)), I will not pass up the opportunity this time around, even with the passing of Wes Craven in 2015.

I didn't even know anything about Scream until my dad rented in on video. I was 10-years-old and fell in love with it. I was still too young to see Scream 2. However, I went with a friend to Scream 3 (his dad bought us tickets). I also saw Scream 4 12 times in theatres. I've been dreaming to see the first. I was really hoping a theatre would show it for the 20th Anniversary. I love the show too. Not as much, but I do enjoy it.

If the main characters have kids? What main characters are left, besides the central three? Not to mention that Sidney might not be able to now......

reply

I only got to see Scream 4 in the movies.

reply

How can Sidney have teenage children all of a sudden? That would mean she would have to age considerably and the timeline would have to take place either 15 or 16 years after Scream 4. Sidney can still have kids but they will all be adolescent aged kids.

reply

Yeah hey just like how John Connor in Terminator 2 is all of a sudden a teenager when he should only be 7. Lol

T2 took place in '95, so John was 10. Still a bit unbelievable, though. Haha.

I suppose Sid could have had kids in between 3 and 4, she just left them at home for her book tour. I don't really want a Scream 5, though.

Kieran is a retcon. Audrey was Piper's original partner.

Well they did say "Stab 5" had time travel......

I was 6 when Scream came out so missed it in theaters. I did see both 3 and 4 in theaters though (part 4 I saw 3 times in theaters).

How the heck did this not get a re-release for the 20th anniversary. Stupidity.

reply

With Wes Craven's passing that seems very unlikely. At least with the original cast. They wouldn't do one without Wes.
