anyone else bothered same 3 people get to live (plus 1 lucky adult character)

while literally every other character that isnt even 18 yet has to die, or in the third the entire cast of Stab 3. Or every college kid in the 2nd one and every high school kid in Sydneys group in the first (aside from Randy and Cotton) but they end up offed in near future anyway.

In films like Halloween and Childs Play usually the adults got killed off by chucky and Michael for not believing the young people and at least a few young people survived

I was bothered.

But. FFS it's Sidney.

Sydney was Jennifer Garner's character in Alias.

No offence.

reply

No. I love the trio. It's not even like they all leave unscathed. Dewey gets it good in the first two. Gale in all except 3.

Sidney. Dewey. Gale. Randy. Cotton.

Sidney. Dewey. Gale. Cotton.

Sidney. Dewey. Gale.

Sidney. Dewey. Gale.

So according to the arrangement, one should've died in the fourth. But one didn't. So who gives a eff. Big deal. Story and character are important not arbitrary death checklists.

If you watch the films sequentially for the first time with no knowledge you would not be thinking "ugh these three always live!"

reply

Yeah. I actually give Scream 4 points for NOT killing returning characters, because most horror sequels do (including the other Scream sequels). Scream is supposed to subvert tropes.
