I wish there would've been a Scream 5

Would anyone else love for this series to continue? They are kinda running low on how to link all of the killers to Sidney's life though. Don't you think?

God, no. We didn't even need a fourth installment, but Hollywood wanted to milk this franchise for all it's worth. I'm honestly surprised they didn't make another trilogy out of it (4, 5, 6).

I'm guessing the reason was to help kick-start the TV series down the line. I haven't really heard anything positive about it.

The first episode was fantastic, but the rest was mostly teen drama.

Anymore, no. Mainly because of Wes Craven being dead. I would've been fine with another one if it had had his involvement as a director again. As is, this was his final film, and I feel like to do another one would dishonor him. What's sad is you know within 20 years they'll reboot it somehow anyway.

That said, I did always have two ideas for how they could do a final part. Could do one, or both. 1: The new killer is Hank Loomis, and going after everyone who survived the first four parts. 2: We find out that the first four parts didn't actually happen as represented to us, but they used the unreliable narrative trope, and that Sidney, Dewey, and Gale have been the killers all along, and everything we've seen has essentially been their cover-up story. A bit silly maybe, but if done right, and no one would see it coming.

That is the worst idea I have ever heard in my entire life. Akin to the "It was all a dream" bullshit.

reply

They can still make one but Wes Craven obviously won't be directing.

reply

I'm sure there will be, eventually, but they should've ended it at the second.

reply

I don't think they will ever make another one.

Yesssss!!!! I personally was always up for more films myself.

Now as everyone obviously has heard by now, Scream 5 is official! Though it’s unfortunate Craven won’t be involved, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to see more of this series with or without Craven (the tv series that had one great season notwithstanding). Excited for film number 5 I am!
