Geography of the film

Around the 12 minute mark, Thom drives out of the city and heads on I-70 west-bound. However, I-70 does not go to New York; it begins in Baltimore. Had it been I-78, then it would've been more believable. Anyone else notice this?

Yes - it drove me crazy. Either 78 or 80 would've made more sense coming out of NYC. Otherwise, I loved this film.

It's weird that they had a mistake like that, considering they really did drive across the country to make it.

Also, their trip to what looked like the Grand Canyon was odd too. Since they took I-70 to Boulder, they likely would've taken it until central Utah and met up with I-15 and taken that to Vegas. On that route, they'd just barely touch Arizona. The Grand Canyon is quite a bit of a detour from that area, though I guess not totally unrealistic.

I noticed a few things like this myself, having driven the route myself

Yeah, the glimpse of the I-70 sign at 13:10 is a goof. But unless you know the road well enough to recognize what road they're on just from the scenery -- I certainly don't -- the goof is only that one second glimpse. When they talk about "70", that's after he says "about an hour from Pittsburgh", and at that point they would have merged with I-70.

So, a goof, but a tiny one.
