5/6 Hot Topics: Wendy doesn't know Oscar Winner Marion Cotillard

This morning Wendy's first item was about Brad Pitt possibly having an on-set affair with, as Wendy put it, "a French actress named Marion". I know Wendy's not a movie buff but Marion Cotillard isn't some ingenue from Europe; Ms. Cotillard is an Oscar winner (Best Actress, 2007, for "La Vie En Rose"). I wish her team had filled her in on that fact. The way Wendy shared this piece of gossip was as if Brad was fooling around with an extra.

Peggy, I totally don't know why you're surprised bc this is a woman who loses her train of thought right in the middle of her own show, discussing things that she was briefed on during these so-called "producers meetings", you know, with "the bureau".πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„And not only is Wendy NOT a film-nista, she doesn't even possess the attention span to sit through Marion's films. True MC won the Oscar playing Edith Piaf but it's not like La Vie En Rose was widely seen so that even Wendy and her lemmings, I mean, co-hosts would know the movie. This wasn't Kate Winslet in Titanic (a Euro actress in a Hollywood blockbuster).😜

Btw, for you guys who totally love Marion or are even remotely curious about her and wanna see her acting chops in her native tongue, don't miss her in Les Jolies Choses, Le Guerre dans le Haut Pays and Une Affaire PrivΓ©e. 3 totally spectacular performances.πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎ And if you guys so can't handle subtitles then check out Marion in The Dark Knight Rises, Midnight In Paris or Inception. You're welcome!πŸ’πŸΏ

I do wonder what exactly happens in these meetings. I bet "the bureau" brings up a certain topic and before they can relay all of the info Wendy switches gears and starts talking about what happened "in my mind" or how good her breakfast is or something. Then they move on to the next topic, because as long as their checks clear, they don't care about Wendy getting her facts straight.

She really relies on them a lot. Looking over at them all the time for stats. She's sloppy at best. She solidifies the Jersey stereotype. Like the show Jersey Shore did. Her "sit down" shows are more like who she really is. YouTube them. I think this is why she covers rappers all the time. She knows this from radio. She does no research on her own.

My favorite is Mr. Furley's marriage to Mrs Roper. LOL.

I saw MC in Paris shopping and not only is she a bona ride star, she is also a class act in person. She didn't go around with entitled *airs* but tried just to get on with things and attract as little extra attention as possible (which only lasted so long, btw, the French recognized her her and the crowd became pretty thick pretty fast....I had to give up my shopping and go elsewhere lest I get pushed and shoved in others attempts to get to her). Agreed she is a fine actress. OT: The Edith Piaf museum is worth a pit stop for those who travel to Paris.

I've seen "Pretty Things" and "A Private Affair"; you're absolutely correct: Ms. Cotillard was spectacular. Had to look up the English title for "La Guerre dans le Haut Pays" and that ("War in the Highlands") was another one I wanted to see. Unfortunately, we have to drive a good hour for the nearest art house theatre. Thank you for the recommendation.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's off the beaten path but the museum (which is Ms. Piaf's apartment) is charming.

You're welcome, Peggy. I'm sure you're totally shocked that I'm up on my Marion's films bc I so know you pride yourself in being a "cultured" African-American woman. You're not the only one babe. Not by a long shot. πŸ˜›

DarylsDaughter, I reread my last post and I saw nothing in its content to warrant this taunting response. In fact, I even posted "thank you for the recommendation", which is, last time I checked, a phrase that means that the person saying it (me) is expressing gratitude to the person making the gesture (you). There was no disrespect so I'm baffled by the above reply.

Just so that there's no further confusion: I do love culture (music, films, art, travel, fine dining) but by no stretch of the imagination do I think I'm better than anyone else. I come from humble, working class beginnings and I've never forgotten that. That being said, DarylsDaughter as well as anyone else, particularly those familiar with my posts here at IMDb, I do apologize if you've felt this air of arrogance that DarylsDaughter is alluding to because that is not who I am. I acknowledge that I can be a bit formal and verbose but I've never felt I convey a sense of superiority. If that's how any of you interpreted my entries, I'm genuinely sorry. While you may think it's unnecessary for me to say this, I do want it to be known that I am pro-humanity! That's why my signature is 'keep the faith' because even in the most challenging times, you should do just that.

Thank you!

That's because Wendy only likes low brow crap. She isn't interested in well written movies or good actors. Even when that guy who recommends movies of the season comes to her show, she gets excited over stupid crap like Barbershop 3 and doesn't even blink an eye for Martin Scorsese directed movie. She watches crappy Lifetime sht but doesnt watch any HBO or Showtime shows. Just horrible taste. Same with her audience. They just like crappy entertainment so of course Marion Cotillard is someone they're unfamiliar with.

And they're the type to act like she's nobody because THEY don't know who she is.

You're all trying to be nice. When it comes to Wendy, there's no need to be polite or try to sound intelligent, because both are lost on her. The reason she didn't know who Cotillard is is because she's an fing idiot. Period.
