hi guys,
the music of gulaal has been released. what do you think abt it?
i like it very much... though its not as good as devd, but still it has some gr8 songs. the music has lot of indian tunes and rustic originality.
i liked 'aarambh', 'raat ke musafir' and 'yaara maula' the most. yaara maula is an excellent rock number and must be an intersting part of story as was emotional attyachar in devd. though 'ranaji' is an innovative sarcastic number on uncle sam, but does not have a gr8 music to back the lyrics. 'duniye' again is a very different song seems to be inspired from old songs... nice song. other songs are ok and nice to listen...

The music is outstanding.. never heard poetry like this in recent Hindi movies... I was just blown away by the sound-track..

My favorites are:

Yaara Maula
Duniya
Sheher (gives me goosebumps)

dont even comapre it to dev d.. music of gulaal is not only legendry but a sure shot masterpiece... each song hits u so harddddddd..

I have listened to both Dev.D and Gulaal. Both are totally different and I love them both. But you seem to be somewhat disrespectful towards the songs of Dev.D
Dev.D has some very amazing songs and great music to back up. Emotional Atyachaar Rock version is one of the best rock songs I have ever heard in a Bollywood movie.
Nayan Tarse and the Dev-Chanda themes are excellent as well.

Dev D's music is way better than that of Gulal. Although the lyrics used in Gulal's songs are more powerful and pertinent.

This movie's songs had hard hitting and thought revoking lyrics, Very cleverly shaped, all credits to Piyush Mishra :)I liked this better than Dev.D
