Bad 13th Warrior Take-off?

Did anyone else think this movie seemed to be a poorly done made for tv movie that took way too much of its story line from the 13th warrior? Perhaps its based off of traditional Norse mythology and both movies just happened to use the same story and that would be understandable but it doesn't seem to be that way. Anyone want to weigh in?

Exactly my thoughts - poor rip off of 13th Warrior! At least the 'monsters' were more realistic in that movie, these 'wolf' creatures were hopeless.

I totally agree. I very seldom don't finish a movie. I figure, if I start it, I finish it. This turkey was not worth the time. I loved 13th Warrior, good book, good movie with Antonio Banderas. Anyone who liked Thor should take the time to see 13th Warrior, and then you'll see how wrong you were.

Asides from being LOOSELY based on Norse Mythology and featuring vikings, this movie really doesn't have much in common with The 13th Warrior. For starters, The 13th Warrior is based on the book Eaters of the Dead, which is essentially Beowulf with the monsters (Grendel, his mother, and the dragon) replaced by cavemen, has an Arab as an outsider joining the vikings on their quest, and has no supernatural elements altogether except for two oracles. This movie features NONE of those elements, thus this is NOT a takeoff of The 13th Warrior. Instead, it's a bad takeoff of Norse Mythology in general!
