Jeffery Combs is AWESOME in this movie!

Anybody agree?

reply

I agree that Jeffrey Combs is always awesome. Bruce Campbell might stay and fight but Combs will run away and be conniving another day. He is the man.

The Reanimator is always awesome!!!

Diane Salinger was just... perfectly awfully horrifying.

Yes, I definitely bought her as a truly evil, mad villain of this film.

To each their own...opinion

Watching the film as I type, just when Combs makes his entrance...I admit it, a huge reason for watching this movie is Combs. He is simply amazing; thereøs always something entertaining about his performances. I don't think this is going to be his best though. I think his best work lies with his guest roles on Star Trek: DS9 as Weyon; truly a masterful performance.

I think he would have been a more wellknown actor if he had been a taller man. He's short. Impish, in fact, which helped the Weyon role.

About this movie; I am a little baffled by all the criticism it gets. But that's how it goes when people watch genre movies. Sure, there are way too many unwatchable horror movies, but so far this is definitely good for what it is; a cheap, effective haunted house-story. And Combs is just a plus. Always.

Okay, they're in the house, and Combs presents his "master piece", and man, does he deliver. Not story-wise but acting-wise.

A lot of people follow Combs' work, and I am one of them. I am more interested in his carreer than most A-lister's. I don't think there are a lot of actors who have such a special following as Combs has.

And Cambell vs. Combs? Oh, it's ice cream and chocolate. Both great.

Picked this up used solely because Combs was in the credits. It was quite fun.

I love to love my Lisa.

reply

No. I love Jeffery Combs and have been a fan of his. His acting isn't
bad in this, it's just out of place. He is a caricature meanwhile every
other character is at a 4, he is an 11 in acting volume. He's much too
loud for this, it seemed silly and inappropriate.

i concur. Jeffrey Combs totally rocked it as the flamboyant Walston Rey.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!

Yes, I'm one who agrees that Jeffrey Combs once again gives a very entertaining performance here in "Dark House".

I also wondered if anyone knew if the Natalie Combs, who appears in a small bit role in this movie, is possibly related to Jeffrey?

I find it to be most likely that she is just given the uniqueness of the name, Combs, combined with the fact that Jeffrey stars in the movie.

I googled around a bit to see if I could confirm that Natalie Combs is related to Jeffrey, but was unable to find any info about her at all.

As I said, the role is a bit part, and she is simply labeled as "Blonde girl" in the final credits.
