Seen it today.. tssss

Not going into too many details because I know many people haven't seen this.
The first 30-40 minutes of the movie is ehh OK, it's a little slow and boring but it still holds my attention mainly because It's set in a psychiatric institution. The acting is from bad to decent on all of the actors behalf. Some actors were way too dull and some actors way way too over the top (the over the top ones weren't even the ones playing psychos, mind you). The storyline and the way they display it is convoluted for no reason.

Then comes the climax of the movie .. oh my lawdy. The climax of the movie draaagged on for 30 minutes for NO reason at all. it went from tense to weird to absolutely ridiculous then finally cliche. Refer to the cliche of: Villain spends so much time explaining his whole plan that he gets foiled. It's not that simple and that's not exactly how it happens but that's the gist of it.

nah man.. 2/10
or 3/10 considering it's a DVD movie

Glad I downloaded it for free

I "previewed" this for free as well.

What do you mean by: "Villain spends so much time explaining his whole plan that he gets foiled."

?

(Spoiler alert...) The amount of time that the crazy rapist took before getting knifed had nothing to do with providing the "knifer" the time needed to take action, no?

reply

(spoilers) .............he wanted to escape the prison and instead he gets sidetracked and inevitably meets his demise because of how long his whole sidetracked exploit takes.

Hurry,

You are assuming that the bad guy wanted to escape. I believe that he wanted something else.

reply

I saw the film while ago and I agree that bad guys intention was not to escape at all !

reply

hmmm didn't consider that. well, that's is indeed another way of looking at it.

.............................................................................that's 100 characters

reply

yea i dont believe he wanted to escape either. i think that was the best part of the movie. he goes through all these lengths to do what? he didnt have a plan at all; that in itself made him completely insane.

"Is your car up a pole again?"

reply

Decent but a bit cliche and predictable. Still was an interesting watch.

This was much better than I had expected based on the rating and limited discussion on this board. I thought Stahl and Wilde gave terrific performances, but Mihok and especially Vince (whom was outstanding) absolutely shined.

I agree with "snes4u" about Tarses and what he was truly trying to accomplish during his psychotic killing spree/attempted escape. He never seemed to be intent on escaping in my opinion, but rather bent on a suicide mission of sorts.
