W T F WAS THIS - THE DEPRAVED MIND OF A SAVAGE

I like great police dramas, crime series and I'm all about the twisted tales, but I just could not wrap my mind around this.

The savagery of this police department was just unbelievable - too unbelievable to even imagine this could be an adaptation of a real story.

Yorkshire might not be London, but are we truly to believe this crap. Had this been inside a prison, we can say that's possible. But you a reporter - a ballsy(?) reporter - who's getting viciously attacked by police in every which way. It begins with the police sexually assaulting him in the parking garage, then smashing his hand in a parking lot, and then torturing this guy in a dungeon.

Then you have the backdrop of the murdered girls, travellers getting attacked for a land development deal, corrupt police and city officials, the wife of land developer in an asylum, the relationship between the reporter and the mother of one of the dead girls, and then the complete muppets at the newspaper. Honestly, WTF!

There was just so much going on that it seemed the main storyline might as well have been filler so we can watch some guy get battered.

Some stories should not be told in 90 minutes. This was a proper mess.
