Casting

Im almost finished with watching this flick, and I have to say its quite interesting. But dont any of you guys think that Garfield is horribly miscast here, to the point of ruining many of the films scenes. The movie has that hard-boiled film noir thing going on, with punk kid Garfield as some kind of Bogart? Wtf were the filmmakers thinking

My daughter and myself were extra's on "1974" Andrew Garfield was petulant, to say the least, he was doing exaggerated "stretching" exercises between takes and was forever looking round to see who was watching him, like a sort of "Look at me, look at me". Quite childish at times.

Yeah but dude is HOT. Smoking HOT. And his glutes? Phwoarrrr!

Nah he wasn't miscast, in the book Eddie is quite arrogant and immature but thinks he knows best, he doesn't realize he's in way over his head until it's too late.

I think the casting for these films is among the best I've seen in an adaptation, makes me think they were kind of a missed opportunity, should have been a series instead of just three films condensed down.
