No subtitles for the third movie

So annoying. Just started to stream the third movie on Netflix.com and this one has no subtitles. Aaargh! The accents are really hard to understand unless you're from Yorkshire. Why do they do this to us? Two movies have nice subtitles, the third has none.

I know! It was very frustrating as I certainly relied on the subtitles for the first two. There was definitely some key dialogue that I missed in this installment w/o the titles. I'm not sure why Netflix dropped the ball on 1983.

^Might not necessarily be the fault of Netflix. If the third movie had no subtitles when the DVD was released, it's not Netflix's job to provide them. When I bought the boxed set of The Shield, 6 seasons had subtitles, the 7th season did not. It was so annoying and I have to wonder at the logic of the TV stations that do this to us.

I'm watching it on Encore right now with my closed captioning through my DVD player and it's working fine. So for me it's not the dialogue as much as I have no idea what the heck is going on in this film with all these crazy flashbacks and horrible editing.

The characters in this series ALL speak ENGLISH at all times. The problem isn't accents or lack of subtitles. It's the laziness of viewers who can't be bothered to open their ears and focus their minds. You don't hear non-Americans whining about subtitles for New York, Southern, Boston, Texan, etc accents.

What a turd you are. Some of the accents are thick and there were times I was unable to detect what they were saying and I have a hell of a sound system. For those lines of dialogue, I'd scan back, turn the subs on (watched on Blu-Ray) and then watch again.

My father called me after watching the first and stated he couldn't understand half of what was said. My pops is a smart man who enjoys a good dense plot. But at his age with his hearing being about 80%, he was lost.

What subtitles?? I'm watching this on american cable tv and I don't see any subtitles.

For the record: Netflix now has subs for the third film. I was worried when I saw folks saying there weren't...must have been true at that time, but I'm glad it's fixed now! Subtitles made this series understandable for me (in every sense of the word).

Luckily it was the easiest to understand IMO.

I bought the series. There were no subtitles at all. Very disappointing as I missed quite a bit due to accent. I am Australian.
