That scene was so retarded it doesn't even belong in the film number 1 Merriman is nothing but business I can't see Merriman doing that at all and he was the leader so it doesn't fit unrealistic

I think that scene was for the audience to get a laugh and keep up the ruse the Merriman was the brains behind the crew.

I watched the extended cut and just assumed the scene with the boyfriend was an extra scene that got cut out. Yeah seemed like unnecessary dumb bro humor.

The scene was necessary as an early clue to the actual gang composition. It wasnt done very well though i agree.
