Gun battle scene reminded me of Heat (1995)

If you haven't seen that, go watch it, excellent movie. The gun battle scene reminded me of in terms of the realistic gun shots and shooting tactics used. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie more than 12 strong that's also in the theater as well.

I really liked it more than 12 Strong too and did think it mirrored Heat a lot. Like it really captures the LA atmosphere and like you said it also has some great gun scenes. Even the ending where the hero and villain are kinda playing a game of hide and seek reminded me a lot of the ending of Heat too. I really liked it more than I thought I would.

I'm trying to go for an entertaining, informative youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see and if you have any thoughts or criticisms, i'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance. Review right here- https://youtu.be/7Dw6qyp8cMc

We are planning to watch 12 strong or Hostiles over the weekend. Do you recommend 12 strong? We liked Den of Thieves. Are they similar? It is between 12 Strong and Hostiles (which I know little about).

I didn't get to see Hostiles. Was kinda underwhelmed with 12 Strong but would be curious your thoughts on it

I love war and military action films so I was looking forward to 12 strong. It was boring and forgettable, for some reason it just didn't grab me. I was expecting something like Black Hawk Down, which is a favourite of mine.

I enjoyed this one much more. Maybe because my expectations were lower.

Agreed! Surprisingly good and very similar to Heat in many ways, especially the determination of the lead investigators and the head bad guys
Loved the twist, which I didn’t see coming

Too derivative of Heat, though. The cover-and-retreat tactics may have been done to military standards, but it felt too mechanical and lacking in the chaos and spontaneity of that kind of situation and what Heat's shootout scene had.

It also didn't make a ton of sense the way they used the "SAW" machine gun (which seemed to operate more like a M240 7.62 than an actual 5.56 M249 SAW) -- I would have expected an experienced soldier to not empty the gun in a long burst and use it in shorter bursts as they retreated.

Nothing about this movie reminded me of Heat. This movie is garbage compared to Heat. I guess the director actually wanted the audience to hate O’Brien. And why would he try to burn his CI in the bar?

Pacino was a nuisance in Heat . Deniro held that picture together
