stand alone story

I really liked this movie. I saw it last night on Cartoon Network and it was a great surprise. I really didn't know anything about it before so I was in for shock. It was so new and different. The only thing I wish I knew earlier was that it is a stand alone story, and not connected to any continuity before, (or after it so far). That becomes clear as characters are killed off. Back stories and ongoing dynamics are tweaked a bit, but in today's world where re-boots and re-imaginings are common place, it was easy to roll with. I hope this comes to DVD soon.
