It plays straight through. No interruptions. I didn't check if there are chapter breaks, but it plays like a movie. Not like episodes.

A true lie and a broken promise. A Judas and a Doubting Thomas.

I don't think I understand. If it were an 11-part mini-series for TV, what exactly does the DVD represent if it's only 60 minutes? That means each episode on TV was a whopping 5 minutes excluding commercial interruptions? This doesn't make any sense.

In the 80s TV show, five 20-minute episodes were compiled to make a 100-minute movie essentially. One hundred minutes is, in fact, a normal runtime for an animated or children's movie.

So I don't get it? When it aired on Adult Swim, was it really only 5-6 minutes per episode? Seems like continuity would be an issue if this were the case.

Anyway, any greater detailed explanation would be appreciated before I buy the DVD. Am I really getting all 11 episodes on the one DVD in only 60 minutes of runtime?

Cheers

The episodes are basically web shorts. The entire story is roughly 60 minutes long. (It wasn't actually out yet when I wrote the above, but that's how long the other Joe animations has been.) You can always check out the runtime on the back of the DVD or watch it on youtube if you don't want to actually buy the DVD.
