R1 dvd problems?

Over the past week I have received 2 copies of Mesrine: Killer Instinct. Neither will play of my laptop (currently my only dvd player). This is the only problem I've had with my laptop playing discs. I was curious if anyone else was having problems with the R1 dvd. I'll send away for a third one but this is getting frustrating. I really want to see this.
