Cast/Crew Stop trying to pump this show up...

If there's ever beena case of producers trying to bump up their projects on IMDB, this has to be it. How can Rush polarize the audience so much it's only recieving 10's or 1's...? This show is an abomination and the fact that 10 have just renewed shows more of a desire to get Aussie content than anything else.

Boring, hashed out scripts, dialogue that is simply hilarious and acting as wooden as Pinnochio make this series what The Happening was to movies.

i thought this was a great show - one of the best aussie shows in a long time! definitely able to hold its own against all the US shows we have.
I also thought it was written very well and not in the usually horrible style that aussie shows so often have (ie, Out of the blue)

Rise of the new Queen

The IMMORTALS
The League of Amazingly Good Looking People

I think that takes the cake for worst Aussie drama/soap ever.

I really didn't like Rush initially. First episode I tuned out half way through, gave it a second chance later on and it still didnt take my fancy. But I accidentally came across it in it's last few episodes and I was impressed. Ultimately it's a well put together show. Great ensemble of actors and not too cheesy nor OTT. I think it just took a bit to find it's legs is all.

To correlate this show with the horrid 'The Happening' is offensive.

Rush is a great show.

We should be grateful that we have more local drama/action on our screens & I agree with above poster. The person who started this thread probably enjoys H&A, eating scones and going to bed at 8.30pm.

reply

Wow - can't argue with an erudite 'zing' like that... I'm off to bed with a danish.

But you know what, no-one should ever be happy with having crap on tv... no matter if it's local or not.

reply

What an odd assertion to make... are you a tv or a journalist? Either way it actually makes me value your opinion even less.

Mind you, it would appear that you are a 'journalist', I can tell by your over use of punctuation and misspelling of "Southern".

I'm guessing you're in your second, maybe third year out of a communication degree and working FOC on a 'community' newspaper or (gulp) 'blog'.

And it is possible to not like Rush and still enjoy quality television... it's not one or the other. I haven't seen H&A in years... but give me an Underbelly (preferably without Matthew Newton) over this stuff any day...

"Perhaps the fact I also work as television producer, screenwriter and director will make you value my judgement a little more."...

It doesn't...

Photo's/Credits... or it didn't happen...

Strike that - I just went to your website - "Australia's leading website for Entertainment News & Reviews" (Big call! Have you even been to Dark Horizons by Garth Franklin?).

I didn't realise you were joking about your credentials/integrity until I saw you gave the movie Twilight 4.5 / 5.0... and said

"'Twilight' is well worth a look as it won't disappoint any fans of good fantasy films... and if you love vampire films then get ready to add this to your 'favorites' list."

I get it now... that's pretty funny. I'll remove "Let the Right One In" to join Team Edward.

And (my favoutite!)...

Hannah Montana: The Movie’ works remarkably well, not only for tweens and fans of the show but also for the adults. In fact this could be one of the surprises of the year… it may even convert you to being a Hannah Montana fan.

You're killing me... I love it!

I like the show, its fast-paced, pretty well written. Is it perfect? By all means - no, but is it entertaining and better than such aussie "soap opera vibe" tripe as The Strip and All Saints? Damn straight.

I like that we're getting a taste of what these "swat" response teams go through. The cast and acting are pretty good, certainly a lot better than most aussie shows, although I do think East West 101 is a bit better in terms of its writing and character exploration. But ultimately I'm entertained, I like the pacing of Rush, I don't cringe that often and you can tell the cast have a good chemistry going, compared to The Strip, which had zero chemistry.

I'm sorry but the OP just sounds like he was trolling back when the thread was created.

This is an awesome series and much better then it's US "cousin" - Flashpoint (yack, now that sucks)

reply

But Flashpoint was not a US production, it originated in Canada.

you havent a damn clue what you are talking about.........and considering i just posted this 6 years after the post makes me a bigger idiot.

I love this show, I think it's great, it's got just the right amount of action and the characters are realistic, it has some great writing.

Or would you rather prefer to watch all those American shows full of unrealistic writing? The one aspect I especially love about 'Rush' is the writing of storylines and the characters are kept realistic and believable.
One of the biggest problems I have with American shows is that although some of them may be fun & entertaining to watch, but alot of the writing is so unrealistic and not believable. What I noticed with alot of Aussie shows is that although some Aussie shows may not be as fun or entertaining to watch as American shows, but Aussie shows generally have more realistic writing & characters, compared to American shows.
