SPOILERS Girl at the end... SPOILERS

The last scene where the girl dies was really baffling. Your wife dies, and you don't try chest compressions or call 9-11? And where was her family? They didn't wanna know any of the details of their daughter's death?

Bing, bing, bing! Bong, bong, bong! Effervescent eaves!

She was on a final morphine drip and clearly undergoing a painful death... why prolong that? Why assume she has family, or one that cares? The whole move was about people who are severely isolated and lonely.

I suppose you have never known someone who is dying a painfilled death. Long before she was lying in that bed, they had accepted she was 'leaving'. His job was to be there with her at her end, and that he did.
That no one but her husband was with her at the end doesn't mean anything, really. Either she had no family or else she had said all her goodbyes and her final moments were between her and her husband. That was fitting.

Life is a journey not a destination. Fear nothing.

I was kind of under the impression the voice over guy was her father, anyone else think this?

That would have been a weird twist. The only thing that ties two of the three stories together, was Gordon listening to Bills voice over of the nature segment about the bird building a nest and I think that was to show the coincidence of it all.

Great movie and great acting. One of the the most underrated movies of all time, imho.
