Nothing 70's about this movie.
They obviously tried to give it a 40's feeling, failing miserably since the movie is so weak that some characters and locations are 40ish and some other are regular nowadays characters and locations.
This crap made me feel awkward all the way through...specially Tomas Jane who couldn't convince a 3 years old that he is tough.
Those voice overs...ugh.
The asian character,the pyromaniac ... terrible.

had potential but failed to live up to it. dialogue and delivery are awful, almost like it's a joke. elsa pataky maybe fit but she can hardly speak english. jane is usually solid but even he struggles here. looks very nice though. mulcahy has always been good visually. strange neo-noir.

6 out of 10. mainly for trying something different

agreed , this movie is a joke... this movie is so stupid I have no words for it . how can directors like(must be handicaped or verry rich) this afford characters like Ving Rhames etc.. many actors are lowering there standards , most famous actors pick there own roles cause they recieve so many of them I quess from different directors ,

like Robert Downey Jr says to Ben Stiller in Tropic Thunder , you never go full retarded or you may never be comming back ?

Yup, dull with some blood here and there, but mostly a failure.

I liked it. Good characters with defined agendas,and well made action sequences, it wasn't bad at all.

This is pretty much the movie that Max Payne SHOULD have been.
