I have just seen this film.
This film is based on the serious crime, i.e- the murder and rape of women.
This film is very moving.
The story almost runs like a thriller.

I agree. It scares me to see this movie rated so lowly (6.9 right now). There's a lot of weird votes at IMDB, but this takes the cake in my experience.

There's a whole lot of misogyny out there and I wonder if that has something to do with the below-7 rating.

Seems to me that a "real" woman-hater would actually enjoy the movie.
