So no one got the message?

Saw it yesterday and spent some time looking through topics.

No one seems get the message that movie all about anti-war (all events triggered by war) therefore anti-religious (war was triggered by religion).

That's why it has invented places and unnamed countries, because the movie is basically parable (ie philosophical fantasy).

Great movie overall, although has some Korean vibe with this incest. A bit dull at the start and then pick up pace.

I understood a lot of the nuances. It was one of those movies that blew me away. I am fascinated by how people can't fathom something like this actually happening. It reminds me how sheltered we are.

Yeah, it happened in Lebanon a few decades ago and is happening again now in several countries, but with even more geopolitical forces, more intense ideology and more violence...

But it's beyond that, as it's a greek tragedy can be applied to the troubles in northern ireland and to some extent generalised to other non-religious ideologically driven conflicts and such... It's not meant to explain the world to us, but rather for the viewer to view, subjectively the dynamics through the various actors and see the bigger picture from the directors point of view... It's a glimpse into the tragedy of these situations...

Very bold movie...
