Why does this exist? - Holmes & Watson (2018) Discussion

There are many fans of Step Brothers and Talladega Nights who want to see these two guys together again. Including me.

Why?

This is from the director of "Get Hard", not those two movies you named.

Just having these two actors in a film won't make the writing or the direction the same as "Step Brothers" and "Talladega Nights"...

I didnt know it's from the same director. Get Hard wasn't too good and I love Will Ferrell.

It's still cool to see Reilly and Ferrell together. I've been waiting it for a long time. Time will tell if it's worth the wait. Who knows maybe the director succeeds with this one..

I'm a huge fan of these two together in Step Brothers and Talladega Nights too, but the trailer doesn't seem to involve that style of humor at all.

Oh wow, this other guy, Adam McKay made all of their best movies. Interesting.

Farrell and Reilly don't write their own jokes or direct their own films. Having personal "chemistry" isn't going to make this film funny.

Yes, having good writers who can exploit their chemistry will make it funny. Let's see if they do.

But the question why the film exists has been answered.

“Why does this exist?”

“Were that many fans of “Get Hard” out there?”

Why bother re-editing the punctuation of my post? Just so you could squeeze in a patronizing “um, no dear”?
