Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeosity made flesh.

Been wondering about this myself.

In the meantime I've read pretty much everything written by Jonathan Ames. Still not enough.

I heard (though not from a particularly reliable source) that a movie was in the works and that Jonathan Ames was putting the finishing touches on a script.

Supposedly yes it is still happening. It appears to be developing at a slow pace though. I'm not sure if the script is even finished.

I hope the movie does happen and it does well. I would love to see HBO revive the series.
