No black people in brooklyn??

So this is set in New York but there seems to be very few non white faces. What's that all about? And let's face it jason schwatrzman only has a career due to his family connections.

Being facetious obviously. But i do wonder how come this show's message boards aren't full of threads about racism and nepotism, when girls (which is set in the same area and probably appeals to similar demographic) is full of them. Guess shows written by and starring women are held to higher standards.

for the record i loved this show mostly, ted danson's character was a delight. Shame it was cancelled, although last season not nearly as good as others.

Because they haven't actually been racist and added black people for the sake of it. It's called positive discrimination. Ethinic groups says there isn't enough ethnics so they falsely manufacture the scenes to add black people. That's racism.

All this show has done is employed 3 actors that could be friends obviously whites because like it or not whites tend to hang out with whites and blacks with blacks, obviously some groups of friends will have a mix but on the whole it's still pretty segregated, and then they've filmed in Brooklyn. They can't hire Brooklyn for the day, what you see is what you see, they aren't going to employ a load of blacks to walk around and pretend to be locals that would be racist.

Ted Danson is awesome yes. Best bit is when he sucked on the walkie talkie LOL

I laughed even harder when he talked into the vaporizer during the mission. And then took a quick hit ;)

Is the token black male or woman wanted? That in itself is racist. Besides, I just don't see the characters hanging out with black people in general. Given the context of the show it would be odd.

One of the funniest shows ever on TV. Sad to see it go so soon.

It's still a legitimate gripe given that there are few minorities even as extras or background characters. Although I can understand that it's a group of a few white friends, and they probably have mostly white friends, it still wouldn't be surprising if they had a few black friends. So that argument kind of cuts both ways.

And to answer a different poster -- yes, I could appreciate a black character, even if he or she would be considered "token" by your standards.
